Harlyn
I parked my car at Harlyn Bay put on my shoes and ran the way,
along the rugged coastal track, I felt the wind at my back.
I could see the blowhole up ahead where years ago we had said
so many things to each other, long before I became a mother.
When I was me and you were you, two silhouettes just out of view.
I ran fast and hard as I was able I heard the sea whisper rhyme and fable,
saw the shadows of lost souls breaking bows and ripping holes.
I felt alive and so breathless free, in that moment by the sea,
then reluctant turned and ran away, but I left my heart at Harlyn Bay.
